Monthly vs. Annual Stock Research: Compare the Bill, Not Just the Equivalent

An annual subscription’s monthly equivalent helps you compare prices. It is not the amount billed each month. Before choosing stock research, separate three questions: What is the actual bill? What research frequency do I need? What can I learn during the trial?

We publish this guide as Foreshadow AI. The prices below are our introductory subscription prices, not a forecast of investment results or a recommendation to choose a particular plan.

Start with the actual bill

| Foreshadow plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Annual monthly equivalent | Research frequency | |—|—:|—:|—:|—| | Basic | $25/month | $240/year | $20/month | Daily | | Pro | $80/month | $720/year | $60/month | Daily and hourly | | Elite | $137/month | $1,068/year | $89/month | Daily, hourly and five-minute |

The annual equivalent is the annual price divided by twelve. For Basic, $240 divided by twelve equals $20. Choosing that annual option means comparing a $240 annual bill with $25 monthly billing—not expecting a $20 monthly bill.

These are introductory prices. Check the current plans page and the terms presented before subscribing.

Compare equal periods without assuming equal suitability

At the listed introductory rates, twelve monthly Basic payments total $300, compared with $240 for annual billing. For Pro, the corresponding totals are $960 and $720. For Elite, they are $1,644 and $1,068.

Those are price comparisons, not predictions of how long you will subscribe or how much value you will receive. A lower annual equivalent does not establish that a longer commitment suits your needs. Nor does paying for a higher-frequency plan establish that your trading will improve.

Consider two questions separately:

  • Would I use this research consistently enough to justify the subscription?
  • Which billing arrangement fits the commitment I am comfortable making?

Do not answer the second question solely from the smallest number displayed beside “per month.”

Match frequency to a real review routine

Basic provides daily research frequency. Pro adds hourly frequency. Elite includes daily, hourly and five-minute frequency. These differences describe the plans; they are not rankings of likely profitability.

For a hypothetical reader who reviews research once in the evening, daily frequency is a sensible starting point for comparison. A reader with regular daytime review sessions might evaluate whether hourly information serves a specific research task. In either case, write down the task before choosing the tier.

For a longer discussion, see our daily-versus-hourly research guide.

Use the seven-day trial to investigate fit

Foreshadow offers a seven-day trial. Use it to assess whether the information is understandable, relevant to your interests and practical to review. You do not need to place a trade to evaluate those questions.

A short trial cannot establish dependable investment performance. Keep research usability separate from any market movement you happen to observe during that period.

Before starting, inspect the displayed trial and billing terms. Confirm any payment requirements, what happens at the end of the trial and the applicable cancellation process. This guide does not specify those terms or substitute for them.

Copy this purchase worksheet

  • Research task: What question do I want help investigating?
  • Review routine: When can I realistically read the information?
  • Plan frequency: Daily, daily and hourly, or all three frequencies?
  • Billing choice: Monthly or annual?
  • Actual listed bill: Record the amount and billing interval together.
  • Trial questions: What terms do I need to understand before starting?
  • Decision evidence: What would make this research useful—or unsuitable—for me?

Keep this as your own note, not as a product feature or an investment-performance scorecard.
